BURBANK, Calif., Sept. 15 / Cesar Millan, star of the Emmy-nominated TV series Dog Whisperer, launched his first National Spokesdog Competition today, an online photo search for the next dog star. Anyone can enter their dog in the competition by visiting NationalSpokesDog.org and uploading their most memorable dog photo and describing why their dog should win. The Spokesdog will star with Cesar in the Millan Foundation's 2010 Public Service Announcement campaign, promoting spaying and neutering and adopting homeless dogs from shelters. Additional prizes include an autographed pair of LandRoller skates, and a $1000 shopping spree at PETCO. The Grand Prize Winner will be selected by a panel of celebrity judges, including Cesar Millan, producer Barry Josephson, rock diva Dayna Steele, and Pulitzer Prize finalist photographer David Woo.

Three finalists will also win in the categories of Best Pack, Most Outrageous Feat, Best Camera Face, and Most Hilarious Costume. Each category winner will also receive a shopping spree at PETCO along with a gift card to CesarMillanInc.com, and Cesar's autographed Common Canine Misbehaviors DVD.

"We've created a contest to search for America's top dogs and promote spaying and neutering of dogs at the same time. It's a great way to highlight the love we have for our canine companions while addressing the most serious crisis facing animals in shelters today," states Cesar.

To enter, visit NationalSpokesDog.org. For a suggested donation of $5, anyone can upload their favorite dog photo and bio. Then family, friends, and neighbors can donate $1 to vote for their favorite dog on-line. Entrants can also use Facebook to easily rally their connections in support of their dog.

This unique competition will benefit the Cesar and Ilusion Millan Foundation's programs to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home abused and abandoned dogs. For more information, visit MillanFoundation.org.
